12 Real Estate Blog Posts You Can Write Now And Schedule For Each Month Of the Upcoming Year
January: Happy New Year!
This one is quick and easy. Wish readers a happy new year. Talk about any potential market changes for the next year, about anything new in the works for you or your office, or about new things happening in the community you serve.
February: Comprehensive Guide or Tutorial
Consider writing a blog post complete with screen shots on how to use your website's property search tool. This is valuable evergreen content for your blog and something you can share with leads if needed.
March: What Are The Factors in Determining Home Values
Home sellers will need to know the value of their home in order to sell. They may have already seen online estimates - think Zestimates - that are obviously incorrect. Discuss the difference between an online estimate and a home value determined by a qualified real estate professional. If you have sales experience to use as examples of homes that were well priced and sold quickly, consider talking about them to show that you know what you're doing.
April: Share Home Staging & Home Decor Ideas
As home selling season goes into full swing, now is a great time for a home staging & decor post. Consider putting the ideas in a list with short little stories about how past sellers have used each idea and had success.
May: Tell a Story
People love stories. Tell your readers a story about an interesting experience with a buyer or seller you helped through a transaction. Here are a few topics:
June: List Great Day Trips Destinations For Your Area
It's summer time, and most kids are out of school. Consider showcasing great day trip ideas for your community. People love lists and are always looking for ideas for things to do. Share it on social media and mention/tag the places you featured. This will likely get you some extra exposure on social media.
July: Feature a Pool Community
Writing about neighborhoods is an easy real estate blog topic. You can write a bunch of featured neighborhood posts ahead of time and schedule those through the year. For now though, focus on one community that has a great swimming pool. It is July after all, and you can have home buyers drooling over the neighborhood with an amazing pool.
August: Warm Weather Recipes
Share a favorite recipe for cold drinks or delicious treats ideal for warm weather. Or, consider listing out favorite summer recipes. For instance, "3 Amazing Frozen Treats Kids Can Help With" or "5 Fresh Fruit Smoothies Perfect For Summer."
September: Feature A Local Park
A key ingredient to a successful real estate business is to be a part of the community. Pick a great local park - perhaps one that is part of a popular neighborhood - and write all about the amenities, playground equipment, special events held there, and anything else people would be interested in. Take some great pics of the park on your own, or search online for images of the park that can be used for commercial purposes. Just make sure to give attribution.
October: Feature a Favorite Restaurant
Like the park post, this shows you as a part of your community. Writing a positive review of a favorite local restaurant will likely generate interest among readers. Let the restaurant owner know that you are featuring them on your blog and when it is scheduled to post. They will be excited for the publicity and may share it with their followers online, doubling your exposure. You can also mention/tag the restaurant when you share it on social media.
Note: I recommend agents write about a well-established restaurant and double check that the restaurant is still open when the article is posted. Also, if they change their menu frequently, keep that in mind if you're writing about the menu or food.
An obvious no-fuss alternative for October is a Happy Halloween post. Like the holiday posts below, you can share decor/staging ideas or recipes.
November: Happy Thanksgiving!
Here's another easy one. Wish your readers a Happy Thanksgiving! Share a favorite holiday recipe or a happy memory of a wonderful Thanksgiving.
December: Happy Holidays!
Like Thanksgiving, this one's a no brainer. Wish your readers a Happy Holidays and share something that warms your heart about whichever holiday you are celebrating. Early December is also great for sharing holiday home staging tips for people selling their homes during the holidays.
With these twelve blog posts written and scheduled out, you can have at least one blog post per month done. You may still want to write quarterly market reports and community events posts throughout the year.
